Trail of TearsThe Trail of Tears, was it unjust and inhumane? What happened to the Cherokee during that long and treacherous journey? They were brave and listened to the government, but they recieved unproductive toss off and lost their tribal land. The clear settlers were already emigrating to the Union, or America. The East coast was burdened with new settlers and becoming vastly populated. President Andrew Jackson and the government had to materialize a way to move people to the West to make room. President Andrew Jackson passed the Indian removal Policy in the year 1830. The Indian remotion Policy which called for the removal of Native Americans from the Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and atomic number 31 area, also go their capital Echota in Tennessee to the new capital call New Echota, Georgia and then at last to the Indian Territory. The Indian Territory was declared in the Act of Congress in 1830 with the Indian Removal Policy. However, unlike most sociologists, Bem chooses non to focus on the differences between males and females, but rather on the similarities. She says that polarized gender kindlyization, the way that we assign masculine or feminine characteristics to things such as walking and talking to make males and females appear to be opposite, keeps us from realizing that the sexes argon more alike than they atomic number 18 different. Men and women have the same needs for food, clothing, shelter, affection, belonging, and so forth. So, what are we doing when we divide human beings by gender and exaggerate differences through social constructs that are not even pertinent? We are creating excuses for the problems we have by blaming gender differences. By continuing to dwell on the social differences between men and wom en in present day American society, we are merely propelling the problem of gender inequality and giving it a reason to remain, rather than eliminating it. Yet, in the 1990s and continuing now in the twenty-first century, both the men and women of American society are impeding feminism because their shared responsibility is overlooked, particularly in cases of rape and other sexual assaults.It is clear when we look at a topic like rape that both sexes can be at fault, not only for the action at hand, but for the deterioration of equality in gender issues caused by that action. It is a well-established fact that men do not rape for sex, but rather for power. Men already have power just because they are men living in a male predominate society. Why on earth would a member of this dominant group feel the need to physically take over another persons body in order to feel powerful? Are American men so accustomed to having their way that they feel they can do as they wish constantly and without thinking about the consequences? Or, are men who rape merely retaliating as a means of retrieving the power they have been losing since day one of the womens movement? I am not at all saying that because women want to be treated fairly in society that they are then putting themselves as a whole at risk from the attacks of jealous men. Afterall, one never hears about women raping men even though women are trying to increase their amount of power.

Although there are several different questions of why the northwestern won the Civil War, factors involving manpower, economy, military tactics and leadership, and presidential leadership, are all parts of a puzzle historians have tried to put together for years. I believe that these four factors should prove to be the most powerful reasons for the Unions destruction of the Confederate States of America. In the North, Lincoln gave the Union armies the sense of enthusiasm and nationalism it need to help breakdown the Confederate States of America. Lincoln and the North were destined to defeat the South. Regardless of whether it was manpower, resources, economy, or military, Lincoln knew he had the advantage and was not willing to let it go. Referencing the first quote of this report, Lincoln knew that God was on his side and that he was the man that would lead the slaves to their God-given right to freedom.

It tells us instead that hard work and perseverance can overcome all obstacles it tells lie after lie, and the happy ending is the happiest lie of all. We need to hear the story that regular people were pulled into his mentality, that random Joes were converted into Jew-hating murderers.   Unfortunately, American history does have a habit of covering up its history for the sake of offering its younger generations a progress model. In a book call Lies My Teacher Told Me, James Loewen shows how the progress model mode of history telling has covered up many important events in American history to the bakshish that children in public education are graduating high school with extremely warped views of history.
